Another season of girls’ middle school soccer in Bedford is in the books. What a fantastic and exciting season it was.

The team’s final record was six wins, two losses, and a tie, only falling short by one goal in each of its losses.

In four of the Bucs’ games, they led by six goals and always remained steadfast. Led by Captains Ashley C. (goalie), Erin C. (left winger), Teresa S. (right winger), and Sasha G. (center forward), the Bucs were competitive throughout the entire season.

Players on offense included Megan Z., Olivia W., and Victoria F. Defensive players included Ace H., Reena B., Jadyn R., Skye H., Elizabeth T., Abbie C., Madeline M., Noel B., and Keira O. (Goalie). Playing midfield were Shalom K., Lydia H., Iris Y., Isla S., Sofie O., and Jocelyn B.

Charlie Humphrey, in his first season as head coach for the JGMS girls’ soccer team, said, “The role of athletics at the middle school level is to help students learn new skills; understand how to function in a team environment; understand the role of a team and one’s responsibility to the team, and WOW did they epitomize all of those attributes.”  He added, “What a rewarding experience for all. I can’t wait for next season.”
