Below are holiday trash and recycling reminders from the Bedford Department of Public Works:
- There will be regular trash and recycling on Monday, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.
- Cardboard and tree drop-off at 108 Carlisle Rd. will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 27 through 30.
- The annual curbside tree collection happens on Monday, Jan. 9. Remove all decorations and do not use tree bags.
The DPW reminds people to give the gift of recycling smart. It includes:
Recycle:
- Brown crafter wrapping paper
- Cardboard boxes
- Thin gift boxes
- Wine and champagne bottle (no corks)
- Paper greeting cards with no glitter, foil, metallic ink, etc.
Reuse:
- Bows and ribbons
- Tissue paper
- String/fairy lights (can also be donated)
- Plastic garlands and wreaths (can also be donated)
- Gift bags
- Wrapping paper
Trash:
- Decorations and wreaths
- Wrapping paper
- Confetti, shredded paper, tissue paper
- Styrofoam (all kinds)
- Tinsel
- Cellophane
