An Obituary: Susan A. Kennedy

Susan A. (Corkum) Kennedy, 81, died on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2023 at Brightview Concord River.

She was born in Somerville on Oct. 18, 1941, a daughter of the late Charles and Maren (Rogers) Corkum and has been a lifelong Billerica resident.

Susan was an Administrative Assistant working for the Town of Bedford in the Town Manager’s office and was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Billerica, where she was active in the thrift shop and had sung in the choir.

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Kelly and her husband Brian of Billerica; two sons, Daniel Kennedy of Gloucester and Jason Kennedy and his wife Karen of Nashua, NH; one sister, Eveline Warren of ME; three grandchildren, Laura, Brooke and Grace; two step grandchildren, John and Nicholas; three great step grandchildren Riley and Daniel and Thomas as well as her beloved cat Precious. She was the sister of the late Robert Corkum.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 14 Treble Cove Rd., N. Billerica. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.

Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brighton Hospice, 1234 Chestnut St., Newton, MA 02464.

Rest in peace Susan. I enjoyed working with you at the Bedford town hall.
