Unexpected Recycling Collection Delay

Submitted by the Bedford Department of Public Works:

The Town’s Recycling contractor, Republic Services, is running behind schedule with recycling collection today – Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The following neighborhoods may be impacted:

  • South Road (from The Great Rd to Loomis St)
  • Loomis Street, Webber Avenue
  • Railroad Avenue, Culter St, Otis Street
  • Crescent Avenue, Bacon Rd
  • School Way, Mudge Way
  • Elm St, Rodney Road and Foster Road

UPDATE (as of 6 p.m. on 1/17/23): Ashby Road, Walsh Road, Lane Avenue and Winthrop Avenue as well as South Road (from Hartwell to Loomis), Hartwell Road, Independence Road, Washington Street (and side streets) have been completed.

Republic Services will return tomorrow – Wednesday, Jan 18, to collect any recycling they were unable to collect.

The Department of Public works appreciates everyone’s patience as we work with the contractor to complete recycling collection. This delay impacts recycling collection only.

Residents who wish to get real time updates may sign up for reminders and alerts in the new Waste Wizard tool on the Trash & Recycling page at www.bedfordma.gov/recycling.
