The Bedford Town Calendar

Trail Walk – Saturday, November 5

Town of Bedford, MA 10 Mudge Way, Bedford

Meet in the parking lot behind the Bedford Library at 9:45am. No matter how you feel about paving the Reformatory Trail (come vote at Town Meeting on November 14), join us for an exploration of many of the side trails branching off of the railroad bed.  We will walk out and back from the parking lot on Railroad Avenue.  We may not get as far as the crossing of Rt. 62, but will go as far as time and inclinations permit.

Pumpkin Smash Composting Event

John Glenn Middle School 99 McMahon Road, Bedford

Smash ‘Em, Don’t Trash ‘Em! Come to the first ever Pumpkin Smash in Bedford, where you can smash your pumpkins and have them collected for composting rather than putting them in your trash. Food waste when put in the trash creates climate change causing greenhouse gases, while composting creates healthy soil and food, sequesters carbon, reduces methane emissions, produces jobs, and even filters and cleans water while reducing runoff. For a healthy planet and for future generations, smash your pumpkins and learn about composting food waste! A limited number of extra pumpkins will be on hand if you would like
