BCA Photo: “The Beauty of Black and White: Learn How and Why” with Danielle Austen

The BCA Photo Group welcomes Danielle Austen to talk about, “The Beauty of Black and White: Learn How and Why.”

Austen, an accomplished fine art photographer and photojournalist, will discuss the principles of B&W photography and why some images benefit from a B&W presentation. She will also demonstrate how to convert images using some of the most accessible post-processing software programs available.

Austen has photographed professionally for over 20 years. In that time her work has been be published locally, regionally and nationally, including “Life’s, The Year in Pictures.” She’s participated in numerous artist-In-residency programs, many national and international juried shows and 3 solo exhibitions. In 2013, Austen was a national winner of Canon’s “Project Imaginat10n,” a photo-inspired film festival competition. She specializes in intimate portraits of the environment (

In-person meetings of the BCA Photo Group are suspended until further notice. We’ve been holding meetings online with great success. Meeting links are sent to BCA members and registered guests shortly before the 7PM start-time. Guests are welcome to attend 2 meetings, and then should join the group if they wish to continue.
