On Sunday, March 5th, the BHS Honors Choir will be performing the choral masterwork Considering Matthew Shepard with Polymnia Choral Society in Melrose, MA. This choral masterwork focuses on telling the story of Matthew’s life, his death, and how his death (and the death of James Byrd Jr. in June of 1998) became the impetus of change in how the US dealt with hate crimes.
The concert lobby will feature tables of nonprofits and organizations that help people in the LGBTQ+ community and/or work to end racism.
This ground-breaking oratorio, Considering Matthew Shepard has been waiting three years since being canceled early in the pandemic. It is full of deeply meaningful, moving music and will be a revelation to all who attend. Learn more about this powerful
