An event every week that begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, repeating until May 1, 2021

The Town of Bedford, led by the Fire Department, is pleased to continue its free COVID-19 PCR testing program for Bedford residents. Routine surveillance testing is the best way to discover who is infected and doesn’t know it.

To find additional Massachusetts locations for COVID-19 testing, including free sites, please go to

The location for Bedford’s testing program is in the campus center cafeteria at Middlesex Community College (591 Springs Road, Bedford). On the labeled campus map at the bottom of this page, testing is located in Building “8” and those coming to be tested should park in lot “D”. The building is handicapped accessible and handicapped parking spaces are available.

Upcoming Testing schedule:

Saturdays (8:00am-noon): April 3, April 10, April 17, April 24, and May 1

This testing program is free for all Bedford residents ages 4 and older as well as Town and BPS employees. Please use this registration link for all testing dates:

Registration opens several days prior to each date, and closes at 4:00pm the day before each clinic date or when all spots have been filled. Each person being tested will need an appointment.

Please call the Town’s testing line at 781-918-4222 if: you have any questions regarding the registration system or testing in general, you do not have access to the internet and need to register by phone, or you have mobility limitations and need to arrange to be tested while remaining in a vehicle.

In case there is severe weather, testing will be canceled if Bedford Public Schools or Middlesex Community College in-person classes are closed. When coming to the testing site, please remember to wear a face covering and maintain six feet of social distance from others.

Results are typically received in 24-48 hours. You will receive an email if your result is negative. For this reason, it is imperative you enter your email address correctly and check your spam folder in case an important email is routed to your spam folder. You will receive communication, and health support information from the Health Department if your result is positive. In the unlikely event that your sample was not able to be analyzed due to lab or sample collection error you will be contacted by the Town. As such, it is important that you answer your phone. If you have questions about what to do after your test, please refer to the COVID-19 Testing FAQs found here:

This phase of the Town’s testing program represents a partnership with Middlesex Community College. In addition to the program being hosted in an MCC building, MCC Nursing students will be helping to collect samples as a component of their clinical training times, and MCC Fire Science students will be volunteering in various roles. This is an opportunity for future frontline workers to help with and experience a real-world response to the pandemic and perform important functions alongside medical and emergency response professionals.

Bedford Fire Chief David Grunes said, “The Bedford Fire Department is excited to continue our testing program, and transition to a new phase and site at Middlesex Community College. We are thankful for this collaboration with MCC and their nursing and fire science students, as well as others who enable this service to our community be a reality, including Pro EMS, the Broad Institute, the Bedford Health Department, the Town Manager’s Office, and community volunteers.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity the town of Bedford is providing for its community members, and Middlesex Community College is proud to work alongside the town to help test our community members and keep them safe moving forward,” said Middlesex President James Mabry. “The educational opportunity that this also presents for our students to assist the town and be part of history, giving back to our community and helping everyone make forward progress in these efforts is invigorating and inspirational.”
