Submitted on behalf of the Bedford Police Department

Chief Robert Bongiorno and the Bedford Police Department are pleased to announce that a series of six informational sessions on various public safety and policing topics will be held in the coming months.

The Department has planned the programs, one each month from May to October, to familiarize the community with members of the department and inform residents about various public safety and policing topics.

At each session, officers will conduct training on a public safety issue and hold an open forum afterward to discuss any community concerns residents wish to bring forward. The sessions will cover internet and phone scams, citations and domestic violence.

  • “Internet and Phone Scams: What You Can Do to Avoid Them” Wednesday, May 29, from 6:30-9 p.m.
  • “Public Health Emergencies: What Police Can Do Before Emergency Medical Services Arrive” Wednesday, June 26, from 6:30-9 p.m.

WHY ATTEND?

“We want people to know who we are and what we do,” Lt. James Graham said. “These sessions are a great tool for police and residents to get to know one another better while addressing a prevalent public safety topic in Bedford.”

“I encourage residents to attend one or more of these sessions,” Chief Bongiorno said. “Our goal is to share the police work we do throughout the community and to familiarize residents with our officers. Come, listen to one of our presentations on public safety, and get to know your local officers in a relaxed setting.”
