“You Oughta Be in Pictures” ~ A Valentine’s Concert

February 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

$15 – $20

Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

First Parish on Bedford Common’s annual, and much-anticipated Valentine Concert and legendary Chocolate Reception will take place in the historic meeting house at 4 pm on Sunday, February 10.

Bring a sweetheart, bring a friend, bring yourself, but don’t miss it!

“You Oughta Be In Pictures: A Tribute to Great Women Songwriters” showcases songwriters from Dorothy Fields and Kaye Swift to Dolly Parton and Joni Mitchell.

The familiar faces of Cynthia Mork, Ben Sears, Buffie Groves, Brad Conner, and Nathan Kimball perform the popular titles “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love”, “I’m in the Mood for Love”, “Can’t We Be Friends?”, “A Little Bit In Love” and many others!

For the second half of the program, masterful pianist Leslie Amper will play solo piano works of women composers, as well as Beethoven’s impassioned “Tempest” Sonata No. 17 in D minor, and “D’un matin de printemps” by Lili Boulanger with guest flutist Carol Epple.

As always, a lavish and scrumptious “chocolate reception” follows the concert.

Suggested donation at the door: $20, $15 for seniors/students. Proceeds from the concert will benefit First Parish, a fully-accessible venue using the Elm Street entrance.
