Events to Celebrate Arbor Day in Bedford

Arbor Day, a holiday devoted to planting trees and supporting the environment, will be celebrated in Bedford multiple times next week.

We Speak for the Trees
Thursday, April 26 at 7 pm ~ in the Large Group Instruction Room at Bedford High School

Presented in a collaboration between the Enviro and Armenian clubs at Bedford High School, the public is cordially invited to learn about the benefit of trees in our community and tips for proper tree planting. The program is free, however, donations will be accepted. Donations will support the Armenia Tree Project and used to plant a tree in the BHS courtyard.

Arbor Day Tree Planting
Friday, April 27 at 10 pm ~ Along the Jenks Trail

The Bedford DPW will install a paperbark maple tree in the Jenks Trail in observance of Arbor Day, 2018. Princeton Elms were planted at the intersection of Elm Street and School Way in 2016 and on Mudge Way alongside the police station in 2017.

Annual Tree Distribution
Friday, April 27 at 10 pm ~ at Davis School

As it has for more than 50 years, Bedford Garden Club gives each Bedford first-grader a very young tree to plant at home. This year, each student will receive a Hophornbeam tree.

Friday, April 27 at 7:30 pm in the Selectmen’s Room in Bedford Town Hall, 12 Mudge Way
