DPW Special Event: Spring Curbside Pickup

Town of Bedford, MA 10 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA, United States

Spring curbside yard waste will be collected on Monday, April 24. Acceptable material includes: Leaves, pine needles, grass clippings Garden trimmings and weeds Tree material up to one inch (one inch) in diameter.  Place yard waste in paper yard waste bags or open barrels that are clearly marked “yard waste.” Avoid using old rectangular recycling bins for yard waste as these can be difficult for the drivers to identify. Yard waste in plastic bags will be left behind.

Spring Household Hazardous Product Collection Events

Town of Lexington Landfill 60 Hartwell Avenue, Lexington, MA, United States

The Town of Bedford is pleased to announce the first 3 events of the 2023 schedule for collection of Household Hazardous Products. The collections will take place at the Town of Lexington Landfill Site at 60 Hartwell Avenue from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on the following Saturdays: April 22, May 13, and June 10. Additional dates for 2023 will be posted once finalized. The event is free of charge to Bedford residents but pre-registration is required. After registering and when you attend the event, you must show an ID or utility bill displaying your Bedford address. You may pre-register

Fall Special Events at the Compost & Recycling Center

The Department of Public Works will once again host the semi-annual collection of hard to recycle materials. Returning for Fall 2023 is ReCOLOR Paints, Electronics & Small Appliance recycling as well as secure Paper Shredding. Styrofoam, Tires and Propane Tanks will also be collected. These events help to keep valuable materials out of the waste stream and lessen the environmental burden of producing virgin materials. New this year, Bulky Rigid Plastics (such as buckets, laundry baskets and plastic lawn furniture) will be moving to a permanent recycling center drop-off later this Fall. Events are free and will be held on Saturday, October
