Unwanted metal items went into a front-end loader for transfer into the dumpster that carried them away - Image (c) JMcCT, 2016 all rights reserved The Department of Public Works will host its Fall Recycling Event on Saturday, October 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at 314 Great Road. The event is open to all Bedford residents. Electronic waste, scrap metal, and rigid plastics will be collected at this event. There will also be on-site shredding with a limit of 5 file boxes per car per trip. Residents can also bring fluorescent lamps, rechargeable batteries (e.g. NiCd, NiMH, Lithium, etc.)
Refuse and Recycling will picked up normally on Monday, December 24.

The Compost Center opens for the season on Wednesday, April 8 at 8:30 a.m.

Residents should place all material in paper bags or in open barrels (clearly marked “yard waste”) at the curb by Monday evening, 4/18. Acceptable material includes: Leaf litter, pine needles & yard trimmings Weed and tree material (up to 1” diameter)
