Thank you to all the donors who generously supported The Bedford Citizen during the third quarter of 2019.  With your help, we raised over $5,100 during the late summer and early fall.  This is on top of the successful spring fund drive and puts us in a stronger position going forward. 

Bedford TV Trivia Night

Think you’re the smartest mind around Bedford? Bedford TV is hosting their 3rd annual Trivia Night fundraiser on Thursday, October 17th at 6PM. Once again, the event will be held at Waxy O’Connor’s located at 94 Hartwell Avenue in Lexington. Grab your friends and get a team together for a fun-filled night of questions covering a wide range of topics from movies to sports to literature. Teams of up to six will battle it out over four rounds of ten questions each.

Friends of the Library Fall Booksale

The Friends of the Bedford Library are holding a three day Fall Book Sale. The Book Sale is held rain or shine at the library located at 7 Mudge Way in Bedford, MA. Thanks to the huge quantity of quality book donations, there will be thousands of books offered in three different rooms, all well organized. Books include fiction such as romance, thrillers, science fiction, poetry, plays and classics plus DVDs and music CDs; children’s books; books for young adults; non-fiction books including art, cookbooks, foreign languages, business, history, science, textbooks, and much more. Proceeds from book sales help underwrite library programs and services, including lecture and film series, additions to the library collection, and museum passes.

VETS1st Motorcycle Run

Vets1st is having a Motorcycle Run Fundraiser, Saturday June 1, 2019 to be held at the Billerica Elks to raise money for the Veterans of New England. This is our 6th year running this Motorcycle Run to help support the Veterans and Their Families in Massachusetts and New England. Many Veterans struggle each month to pay medical expenses, utility bills, housing cost and so much more. 100% of Proceeds go to our Veterans and their families to help pay these expenses.

Goat Yoga to Benefit the Bedford Recreation Department

Try Goat Yoga while giving back to the community! All proceeds go directly to the Bedford Recreation Department’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund to help support families who may otherwise be unable to afford Recreation programs. This class will take place outdoors on the farm at sunset and will feature Chip-in Farm’s herd of friendly goats. Goat kids are naturally curious and playful, and our goats love to climb on anyone and anything. While this may not be the most meditative and relaxing yoga class you have taken, it will surely be the most fun and memorable – perfect for melting that stress away! Bring your own mat, blanket, or towel but be prepared for the goats to potentially taste test everything!

Cinco de Mayo ~ A Bedford TV Fundraiser

15th Annual Minute Man March

Minute Man Arc invites you to join the BEST fundraiser around and out 15th Anniversary Walk!  Our annual Minute Man March event supports individuals with disabilities of all ages in and around the town of Bedford. The March is our signature fundraising walk through Concord followed by a joyful celebration. Enjoy walking with the people we are proud to serve, then relax at the finish line with a  lunch, music, games, raffle prizes, and more. Event Date: Saturday, May 4, 2019 (rain or shine)

Barn Dance for Haiti and BBQ Supper (St. Paul’s Episcopal Church)

Come one, come all! To the Barn Dance for Haiti! On Saturday April 27th, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Bedford, MA will be hosting a Barn Dance fundraiser for our Haiti mission efforts. The event will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and includes a BBQ dinner.  Proceeds from the event will support our Haiti outreach partners, to continue funding student scholarships for Haitian nursing and therapy students, and for sponsoring a Haitian ‘Monitrice’ who will assess children and give advice about nutrition and family health in rural areas of Haiti.

B. Good fundraiser to support Bedford Elementary Schools!

On Wednesday, April 10th, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. B. Rotary Fundraiser at Ken’s NY Deli

The Rotary Club of Bedford will be holding their 7th annual Meals for Kids meal packaging event on Saturday, April 27th at Middlesex Community College. On Tuesday, March 26th Ken’s NY Deli & Pizzeria will be donating a portion of their sales on ALL DAY to Meals for Kids. Stop by for lunch and dinner! Greg’s Goat Yoga Marathon Fundraiser

Greg Barry of Bedford is running the 2019 Boston Marathon and raising money for the Martin Richard Foundation. You can help support his goal of reaching $7,500 by trying out Goat Yoga! Greg has worked at Chip-in Farm since 2011 and we are thrilled to help support his fundraising goal. 100% of proceeds will go towards Greg Barry’s fundraiser to benefit the Martin Richard Foundation. The Goat Yoga classes will be led by Julie Aronis of Little Elephant Yoga and are suitable for all levels of yoga experience.

The Rotary Club of Bedford Flatbread Fundraiser – “Meals for Kids”

The Rotary Club of Bedford will be holding their 7th annual Meals for Kids meal packaging event on Saturday, April 27that Middlesex Community College. Flatbread Pizza and Ken’s NY Deli will be donating a portion of their sales on March 12th and March 26th, respectively. “You Oughta Be in Pictures” ~ A Valentine’s Concert

First Parish on Bedford Common’s annual, and much-anticipated Valentine Concert and legendary Chocolate Reception will take place in the historic meeting house at 4 pm on Sunday, February 10. Bring a sweetheart, bring a friend, bring yourself, but don’t miss it! “You Oughta Be In Pictures: A Tribute to Great Women Songwriters” showcases songwriters from Dorothy Fields and Kaye Swift to Dolly Parton and Joni Mitchell. The familiar faces of Cynthia Mork, Ben Sears, Buffie Groves, Brad Conner, and Nathan Kimball perform the popular titles “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love”, “I’m in the Mood for Love”, “Can’t We Be Friends?”, “A Little Bit In Love” and many others! For the second half of the program, masterful pianist Leslie Amper will play solo piano works of women composers, as well as Beethoven’s impassioned “Tempest” Sonata No.

Flatbread Fundraiser for First Church of Christ West Virginia Mission Trip

First Church of Christ, Congregational, is holding a fundraiser at Flatbread Pizza in Bedford on Tuesday January 29. A portion of the proceeds from each pizza sold, dine-in or take-out, will be put toward our 2019 West Virginia Mission Trip. Each year members of First Church travel to West Virginia for a week to volunteer with our partner organizations to help support the people and communities of southern West Virginia. This year’s trip will take place July 6-13.

CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars Flatbread Fundraiser

Take a break from cooking and dine at Flatbread (213 Burlington Road, Bedford) on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. A portion of each all-natural-ingredients pizza sold from 5-9 p.m will benefit CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization providing scholarships to graduating high school students who plan to continue their education.
