Here’s hoping that you and yours safely celebrated 2020’s Turkey Day
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Commander Jon O’Connor, staff and volunteers of the American Legion Post 221 who provided an alternative drive-through Thanksgiving Senior Luncheon this Sunday for the residents of Bedford.
Every year, since 1974, the American Legion, has provided this very special event that brings together our 3rd generation, veterans, volunteers, staff, and Town leadership. I am honored to have been a small part of the last 5 years and always enjoy seeing everyone spending this important time together.
Thanksgiving 2020 is going to look different, but if you play your cards right it could be an opportunity.
To quote Rahm Emanuel, “Never allow a good crisis go to waste. It’s an opportunity to do the things you once thought were impossible.”
Thanksgiving 2020 is definitely a chance to do things you once thought were impossible. The uncle you can’t stand—out. In-laws, way too risky. Sister with the annoying toddlers, oops sorry. Your aunt who insists on bringing her incontinent dog—nope!
It’s true: 2020 has been a banner year for the difficult, and the unusual, but an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ is said to make it all a little easier.
If you’re grateful for anything (large or small, silly or serious) in 2020, please click ‘Reply’ at the end of this post and share your thanks.
Organizers of the 14th annual Bedford Turkey Trot have found a way to keep the tradition going this year without compromising safety considerations during the pandemic.
And the big beneficiary will be the Bedford Food Pantry.
