Folk Music Concert with Howie Rashba and Mel Green

Bedford musician Howie Rashba will perform a concert of folk favorites. He'll be joined by Mel Green, a veteran of the folk scene in his native South Africa, as well as London, the Poconos, Greenwich Village, and Cambridge, where he worked with luminaries such as Sandy Bull and Rosalie Sorrels. The program will include familiar favorites such as "Lemon Tree," "Blowing in the Wind," and "Wimoweh". Singing along is strongly encouraged!

We will be having a joint Bedford/Burlington Democratic Social on Sunday October 1st from 2-4 pm at First Parish in Bedford. Newly elected Democratic State Committee chair Steve Kerrigan will be joining us, as well as Ken Gordon, Mike Barrett, and other elected officials. This will be a great chance to hear what is going on at the state level and meet and mingle with local Democrats and others. Refreshments will be provided. This event is open to all.

Concert to Celebrate the Exhibition of Contemporary Ukrainian Art, in Bedford, MA

To celebrate the upcoming art exhibit “Affirmation of Life: Art from Today’s Ukraine” (running from Saturday, Sept. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 7), the First Parish in Bedford is pleased to host a Concert on Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 5:00 p.m.   The concert will feature acclaimed Ukrainian soprano, Olha Abakumova, who escaped from Ukraine with her young daughter and now lives in Sudbury.  Ms. Abakumova will be accompanied by pianist Clemens Teufel playing the music of A. Kos-Anatolsky, H. Majboroda, G. Gershwin, R. Schumann, and J. Strauss as well as others.  A small reception will follow the concert.   Reservations

Reception for Art Show: Three Bedford Artists

On Sunday, May 21, the Gallery@First Parish invites you to attend the opening reception of the current show that features Bedford artists Nancy Daugherty, Pat Pellegrini and Nancy Willett.  The reception is from 11:30 to 1:00 in the gallery at First Parish.  Nancy Daugherty, local artist,  is showing photographs that feature silhouettes and shadows while Nancy Willett, artists and former Day Care teacher and administrator, shares with the audience her watercolors, collages and Icon.  Former teacher, now deceased, Pat Pellegrini's work consists of watercolors, pastels and acrylics all of which have not been displayed in public before now.  Both Nancy
