Job Lane Farm Museum 295 North Road, Bedford

Job Lane Farm Museum located at 295 North Road, in Bedford, will feature Linda Green, the director of the Westford Museum demonstrate chocolate as it was in the 18th century. Linda is passionate about chocolate. This is all about chocolate, but different from chocolate today and so interesting. 3rd annual Job Lane Quilt Exhibit

Job Lane Farm Museum 295 North Road, Bedford

Job Lane 3rd Quilt Exhibit October 9, 2 – 4 pm.  House tours will also be held. Quilts will be exhibited in the house and in the barn.  A picture, the name and history of the quilt will be displayed with the owner’s name. Job Lane Farm Museum, 295 North Road, Bedford. The house will be open for tours on September 25, 2022.  Guided tours are on the 2nd & 4th Sunday, May through October from 2 to 4 p.m. of one of the oldest homes in Bedford, owned by the Town of Bedford.  The house has Rufus Porter murals, a beautiful garden maintained by the Bedford Garden Club ladies and Children’s Colonial Games.  Memory Lane Gift Shop in the Job Lane Barn has many children’s books, Bedford Flag items, and much more

House Tours and Spinning Demonstration

Spinning is not a lost art.  The Job Lane Farm Museum, 295 North Road,  Bedford,  will have two spinners on Sunday September 11, 2 - 4 pm.  In 1768, Boston merchants decided not to import any products from Britain, including textiles.  Ladies here had to learn to spin, which gave way to spinning bees.  Some spinning bees are still held. Zoe Lawson, a very knowledgeable spinner as well as Elizabeth Skipper will be spinning on September 11  during house tours.  More info is on our website at https://joblanefarmmuseum.org

Dean Rantz, Blacksmith at Job Lane Farm Museum

Job Lane Farm Museum 295 North Road, Bedford

Dean Rantz will be at the Family Field Day, August 14, 12 noon to 3 pm, at the Job Lane Farm Museum, in Bedford. He attended Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, and is very gifted. He can create mostly anything a customer asks for. He makes colonial reproductions including some for fireplaces.  He has made trivets, chandeliers, a music stand with candle holders, rails for homes, museums and churches, and small items such as nails, J hooks, shutter dogs, and eye hooks. This event has something for everyone in the family.

UPDATE, July 20, 2022: Due to oppressive heat, the museum will be closed on Sunday, July 24.  Linda Pye Green will reschedule her Chocolate Demonstration as soon as possible. Job Lane Children’s Game and Tours

Job Lane Farm Museum 295 North Road, Bedford

  The Job Lane Farm Museum is located at 295 North Road in  Bedford, and is owned by the Town of Bedford.  The demonstration on Sunday, July 10, is for Children, and their parents.  We have Kate Reynolds returning with great fun activities for children to take them back in time.  Kate enjoys having the 18th century toys/games available and loves to share and talk about them with the children.  We will also have house tours and the Memory Lane Gift Shop is open!.    Come for a fun afternoon. Job Lane Farm Museum House Tours

Job Lane Farm Museum 295 North Road, Bedford

The museum, located at 295 North Road, holds house tours every 2nd and 4th Sunday, 2 - 4 pm. May through October. The tours take about 35 minutes, and the barn tour follows the house tours.  The Memory Lane Gift Shop is in the newly built timber-frame barn. We are currently looking for tour guides, and greeters.  We train you and provide colonial clothing. For information, send a message to [email protected]
