On Thursday, July 19th, spraying is scheduled for neighborhoods of Bedford that are located near Concord Rd., Davis Rd., Carlisle Rd. North Rd. and Huckins Farm.​ The Project uses a spray formulation containing the pesticide product, Anvil, to control mosquitoes. Anvil contains the pesticide Sumithrin, which is a pyrethroid that is classified as slightly toxic by the EPA. Mosquito control applications of sumithrin do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity of sumithrin and the small amount used to control mosquitoes.  As with any pesticide, people should minimize exposure. Mosquito Spraying Planned for Bedford 6-26-18 (Rain Date 6-28-18) For the week beginning June 25th, 2018, the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project is planning to use truck mounted aerosol sprayers to apply Sumithrin in Bedford. All spraying is done between dusk and 11:30. On Tuesday, June 26th, 2018, spraying is scheduled for neighborhoods of Bedford that are located near Concord Rd., Davis Rd., Carlisle Rd. Memorial Day – Town Offices Closed

Town offices will be closed on May 28 due to the Memorial Day holiday. Trash and recycling collection will take place on Tuesday May 29.

Bedford’s Memorial Day Ceremonies and Parade set for Monday, May 28

Below is the schedule for Bedford's ceremonies, parade and activities planned for Memorial Day (May 28). 2018 Bedford Memorial Day Ceremonies (Monday, May 28). Please join us in honoring our veterans, especially remembering those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom. Town events include: 8:30 AM: American Legion/VFW Memorial Ceremonies starting at American Legion Post and then to Shawsheen Cemetery. Ceremony will include Don Corey from the Historical Society who will give a brief talk about the cemetery and Bedford’s Civil War soldiers. After the ceremony will be a short walk to Shawsheen River to honor our navy veterans. 10:00:

Stamp Out Hunger is On!

Editor's Note: Items collected by Bedford’s letter carriers will be delivered to the Burlington Food Bank due to the logistical problems that led Bedford Community Table and Pantry to cancel their participation in this year’s drive Help the Bedford Food Pantry May 12 Saturday, May 12 is the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers. There are two ways you can help this year. First, leave non-expired, nonperishable food and/or personal items (no glass containers, please) in or near your mailbox. Your letter carrier brings everything to the Bedford Food Pantry.
